Science Display Day

Europe Day
Last Friday we celebrated Europe day. We made a display of all our work on Europe and showed it to the other classes. We were delighted when Mr. Luke Flanagan joined us on the day. He told us all about his work in Europe and the various committees he sits on. Later he answered questions about what life is like for an M.E. P. in Europe.

Engineer’s Visit
Adrian, a civil engineer visited us on Friday. He told us he studied for four years and now works for Roscommon County Council. Civil Engineers work on roads, bridges and motorways. Our favourite part was hearing how the badger was protected when the Ballaghaderreen By pass was built. Tunnels are left so they can cross the road safely.

Mathletics
Well done to all the pupils who received their bronze certs on Friday. This was a great week as almost every pupil attained a bronze cert for the first time. Well done also to Rachel who was Mathlethic of the week and Mrs. Cox’s class who were reached the top ten in Europe’s top ten classes.

Plants for You
Last Friday our plants were finally ready for sale. We set up the tables the day before and decided on the price. We had over 200 plants for sale and sold everyone of them. We were really delighted with the day. Thanks to all the Parents and Grandparents who bought a plant. We loved working with the plants and learned a lot about planting and also about running a business.
